Nice sound on this little drum, similar to a doumbek. Made of environmentally-friendly, sustainably-farmed one-piece mahogany and headed with goat skin. Drum etched with a rough carving throughout its outer shell, giving it a natural tree bark appearance. Makes a great gift idea and a perfect light-weight drum for children and adults alike. These are considered a quality #2 djembe drum. As with any hand made wooden item, there may be imperfections here and there, including areas filled in with wood filler. This does not have a negative impact on the performance or sound of the drum, and if you want to save money, this is an economical route to go.
